Serving Sapulpa

Sapulpa is the seat of Creek County and one of the larger towns in our service area, with a population around twenty three thousand. It sits south west of Tulsa, and for most residents the run in to Midtown is a straightforward twenty five minutes or so on the Turner Turnpike or Highway 75 depending on which side of town you start from.

The town takes its name from Chief James Sapulpa, a Lower Creek from Alabama who set up a trading post in the area around 1850. Its status as county seat was contested for five years and only settled by the Oklahoma Supreme Court in 1913, after which the courthouse completed in 1914 was built. That building is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Sapulpa is also a Route 66 town, and it leans into it. The historic downtown is full of antique malls, galleries, coffee shops, and barbers, and the Route 66 Blowout has run there every year since 1990. The other thing the town is known for is Frankoma Pottery, which moved to Sapulpa in 1938 and worked local clay until it closed in 2010.

What we see most from Sapulpa

Sapulpa is far enough out that being referred across Tulsa for a second appointment costs a family most of a morning. That is the practical reason a lot of Creek County patients come here: extractions, wisdom teeth, sedation cases, and implants are handled in this office rather than sent on.

None of that means we only do one thing for one town. It is simply the pattern, and it is worth saying out loud because it tells you what your neighbours found useful about driving here.

Everything in one office

Diamond Dental is family owned and locally run, not part of a chain. Cleanings and deep cleanings, crowns, fillings, veneers, clear aligners, TMJ treatment, injectables, implants, extractions, and wisdom teeth all happen in this office. For a Sapulpa family that is the difference between solving a problem on the trip you already made and starting a second one on the other side of Tulsa.

Dr. Mariam Hanna earned her DDS at Howard University College of Dentistry and completed a one year general practice residency in sedation and oral surgery at LSU Health Sciences Center. That training is the reason surgical and sedation cases stay here rather than being referred on, including patients on several medications or with conditions that need watching during a procedure.

She is also a member of the American Academy of Facial Esthetics, which is the training behind the TMJ treatment and injectables offered here.

If the dentist is not somewhere you enjoy going

Two things keep people away, and they are cost and a bad experience somewhere else. We quote treatment before starting it, and nobody here will comment on how long it has been since your last visit.

Nitrous gas is available the same day for most appointments and oral sedation can be arranged in advance. There is also a therapy dog, blankets, and iPads, and you can ask for any of it at check in without giving a reason. The comfort menu page sets out the lot.

New patients from Sapulpa

The new patient visit is $125 for an adult and $90 for a child, covering the exam, digital X-rays, and a cleaning. Gum measurements are taken at that appointment, because that is what tells us whether a standard cleaning is right for you or whether gum disease needs treating first.

We accept most PPO plans, including Cigna, Aetna, Guardian, MetLife, and Delta, and our team handles the back and forth with the insurance company. If you do not have dental insurance, ask about Smile Club, our in house monthly membership. The current offers page lists what is included.

Families from Sapulpa regularly book several appointments back to back so one drive covers everybody. Ask for that when you call and we will arrange it.

Bring your insurance card, a list of any medications you take including over the counter ones, and the name of your previous dentist if you have records worth transferring. If you are in pain or something has broken, say so when you book rather than waiting until you arrive, because that changes how much time we set aside for you.

Usually not. Dr. Hanna completed a residency in sedation and oral surgery, so extractions, wisdom teeth, sedation cases, and implants are handled in this office rather than referred on. That is the main reason Creek County patients make the drive.
